After centuries of slavery in America Blacks were freed in the 1860s. Systematic even legal segregation and discrimination continued for another century. The 1960s Civil Rights Movement archived equal rights under the law, at least on paper. An honor of those before us we must continue to work against any discrimination we find, and do what we can to not regress.
All Americans should be treated as equal, by the government, courts, police, businesses, institutions, service organizations and other people.
